From Barcelona by car in about 1 hour, and also there are frequent bus routes that last about 2 hours. From the much more neighboring Girona, it’s only 40 minutes drive or about an hour by bus. Check here for more info and routes  www.moventis.es

The truly beautiful castle of Tossa, dated sometime in the 12th century. it will not tire you too much to get to the top, but instead it will reward you with its unique view relatively easily. There is a café where you can relax and enjoy the endless blue.

Ava ‘s Gardner romantic statue , will wait for you somewhere in the middle of your climb.

You can see ,the remnants of the Gothic church of St. Vincent behind me.

Explore Vila Vella

Inside the castle hides ,  the only medieval in-walled town on the entire Catalan coast of Vila Vella, full of beautiful stone alleys and traditional houses.

Υοu can also visit the Municipal Museum , for more information about the local history.

Reasonably, after climbing and exploring, you will be hungry, so take a stop at one of its traditional restaurants and enjoy some local delicacies. Wherever you find most local people eating , you know it will be the good thing! I tried a salmon fillet with extra salt and potatoes in the oven. Delightful!

Take a visit to this ancient Els Ametlleres villa of the 1st century AD and admire all the finds. Do not forget that the area was once part of the Roman Empire.
